Veterans Home Care announces two promotions in Missouri: Robin Borders, in St. Louis and Dana Taylor in St. Genevieve, are now senior regional managers. Veterans Home Care, is a national, St. Louis-based private company, assisting veterans and their surviving spouses with access to a home care including help with meal preparation, transportation, bathing, dressing, companionship and light housekeeping.

Taylor joined the company nine years ago and also has the credentials of Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

"Along with working with veterans, spouses and their families, we work with home care providers, home health professionals, social workers, hospital discharge planners and rehab specialists. They refer clients to us so we can help them through our VetAssist Program. Many of these organizations rely on Veterans Home Care’s expertise with Aid and Attendance,” said Taylor.

"Veterans Home Care is unique in that we help veterans or their surviving spouses access a pension to pay for home care, then provide them with that home care," said Borders.

Borders has been with the company for more than five years. “Unfortunately, in my tenure, I haven’t seen a greater awareness of the Aid and Attendance pension. So many veterans and their families are still surprised to learn that they may qualify for this pension. Making people aware of this benefit is probably the most critical thing we do,” said Borders.

Veterans Home Care was founded in 2003 by Bonnie Laiderman after her mother, a surviving spouse of a Korean War veteran passed away before the approval process was complete for a little known Aid and Attendance pension through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Laiderman decided to help make this pension available to as many deserving veterans as she could. Since then, her solo business has grown to more than 100 employees across the country and has served 13,000 disabled veterans and their surviving spouses in 44 states.
