VETERANS HOME CARE ANNOUNCES VETASSIST® PROGRAM
Veterans Home Care, LLC. announces the introduction of the VetAssist® Program, to present as a single brand offering, its unique services to elderly wartime veterans and their spouses.
The VetAssist® Program helps qualifying wartime veterans or surviving spouses to access the “Aid and Attendance” pension, a little-known Department of Veterans Affairs benefit. One of the VetAssist® Program’s unique features is a zero-interest loan, with no out-of-pocket costs to clients, to pay for home care beginning when the application to the VA is submitted. After clients are approved by the VA and begin receiving pension payments, the VetAssist® Program provides continuing case management and compliance monitoring to help ensure that clients keep their pension.

The VetAssist® Program begins with the first phone call ̶ every prospective VetAssist® Program client is contacted by an intake specialist who conducts an in-depth interview to determine eligibility. That phone interview is followed up by a personal visit at which the client’s need for assistance with activities of daily living and financial need are assessed and documented. The application is completed and sent to the VA, home care is scheduled and the client begins receiving care, even while their application is being reviewed by the VA.
